Boarding and drop-off
Departure — Tirana
Tirana East Bus Station
Rruga e Elbasanit, Lundër
The terminal on the Elbasan road, south-east of the centre. Allow extra time in Tirana traffic and be at the bay 15 minutes before departure.
Arrival — Podgorica
Podgorica Central Bus Station
Trg Golootočkih žrtava 1, 81000 Podgorica
Directly opposite the railway station, so onward trains to Bar, Kolašin and Belgrade are a two-minute walk.
What to do in Podgorica
Podgorica is Montenegro's capital, set where the Ribnica flows into the Morača. It is a working city rather than a resort, and it is the country's transport hub: the central bus station faces the railway station, which puts Lake Skadar, the coast and the mountains within easy reach.
Stara Varoš and the Clock Tower
The Ottoman-era old quarter on the left bank of the Ribnica, where the 18th-century Sahat Kula clock tower still stands beside the Osmanagić Mosque and the remains of the Ribnica fortress.
The Morača and the Millennium Bridge
The cable-stayed Millennium Bridge, opened in 2005, is the city's landmark. Riverside paths lead down to Njegoš Park and the Petrović Palace, now the Centre for Contemporary Art.
A base for Lake Skadar and Ostrog
Lake Skadar, the largest lake in southern Europe, begins a short drive south-west, and the cliff monastery of Ostrog lies to the north — both common day trips from Podgorica.
